(PortalTaxi.net/Music) – Inspired by a confession from musician Taylor Swift, during a show for her “Speak Now” tour last November where the artist recounted her own experiences as childhood victim of bullying, eleven-year-old Jolie Montlick made a pledge to take a stand.

On her website, Jolie writes: “Sadly, over 50% of kids will be the victim of bullying at some point in their life…and what’s even crazier is that something like 85% of the time kids just stand by and do nothing.

In the face of bullying, there’s no such thing as an innocent bystander. We all have the power to play a key role in preventing or stopping bullying. Join me in raising our voices to help stop bullying. While one voice is good, two voices are even better!”

A budding ten-year-old guitarist, Montlick took that inspiration and composed “My Song for Taylor Swift,” her first effort at songwriting. Her timing was perfect, and the song resonated with fans. That’s when Jolie and her father, David Montlick, realized it could be so much more. After assembling a 150-person cast, they shot a video, and have released to raise awareness of National Bullying Prevention Month in October.

“We got excited about this project when we saw the impact the song had on kids. Several kids told their parents that they were going to speak up and stop being victims; and a number of other kids told their parents that they would use their voices the next time they saw someone being bullied. After such a positive response, we wanted to produce a music video to bring the story to life, so we could help as many kids as possible around the world.”

Written and recorded when she was ten, Jolie is taking a leading role in raising awareness of bullying.

When she’s not wowing fans, Montlick is a national spokesperson for A4K, the Ambassadors 4 Kids Club (a4kclub.org), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young people to speak out against bullying and child abuse. And Jolie is doing more than talking about bullying. 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of “My Song for Taylor Swift” and other Montlick tunes will go to support A4K.

As Montlick says on her website: “I believe you are never too young to make a difference!”
