PALM BEACH COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT EXPANDS BENEFITS FOR NONTRADITIONAL FAMILIEs

(West Palm Beach, Florida)  The Palm Beach County School Board unanimously voted this evening to move forward with a policy allowing school district employees with domestic partners to take the same family and medical leave granted to opposite-sex, married employees under federal law.  Final approval is expected to occur before year’s end.The action was taken at the request of the Palm Beach County Human Rights Council, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to ending discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender
