(portaltaxi.net/music) – Born2Act, an extremely prolific rapper who spends much of his time acting when he isn’t rapping hip hop at underground venues, has released his newest pair of concurrent singles, titled, “Holla Bac,” which features D.Cane, and “Rap Terrorist.” Like Born2Act’s more recent material (see “Hunny Bunny” and “Spitarama,” also available online) these modern rap masterpieces feature digital drum and percussion, and some of the most poetic rhymes spat in the modern urban music scene today. Born2Act is a DIY solo act who writes, performs, records, produces, engineers, and refines his own music using only his own talents gleaned from being a musical autodidact. His courageous ambition is quickly making him one of rap’s most likely to succeed.

Regarding the tone of “Holla Bac,” (feat. D. Cane), Born2Act says, “I decided that I wanted to add some input into the music industry with my experiences and knowledge of hip hop, and with various types of music from past decades.” The industry, as well as music fans at large, are the better for it, and especially with so many artists vying for their place in history today. “I aim to make hip hop fun again, and large,” he says.

The message of “Holla…” is extremely healthy and optimistic, which is generally Born’s demeanor and attitude in his music and onstage. The point of “Holla…,” he says, is “To stay hyped and on fire about whatever you are doing in life. To feel good about yourself. Everybody has some swag in them.” He wanted to make music people could jump to. “This is an energetic, pumped up song. It’s wake you up music. I want to make hip hop exciting again, with a touch of old school and new school in the mix. You can’t sound like everybody else to be a great hip hop artist. Originality is the key. Not just the same old same old routine.”

The sound, groove, and mood of “Rap Terrorist” is somewhat different from that of “Holla Bac,” which is partially because of the inclusion of D. Cane on the latter. With “Rap Terrorist,” Born2Act says he aims to be, “Taking hip hop to the next level with a smooth intergalactic flow. This track is indie underground artistry expression at its best.” This is true at least in part because of the grandiose orchestration, which, like Niagara Falls, spreads out behind Born’s rapping like a great, roaring curtain of sound. Born2Act himself likens “Rap Terrorist” to “an epic movie soundtrack full of many orchestra-style instrumentation.”

He names among his key influences the legends: Melle Mel, Eminem, Bob Marley, D.Cane, Tupac, Nas, The Rolling Stones, Jay Z, The Beastie Boys, Run Dmc, Russell Simmons, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Bruce Springsteen, Kool Herc, Lady Gaga, Biggie, and NWA.

“Rap Terrorist” and “Holla Bac Feat. D. Cane” are available online worldwide.
