It would be great to sit back and have an agent book all your shows, but not everyone has an agent or a label to help them. Are you doing local shows, but would like to do more out of town shows? There are tons of musicians in your position in towns all around the world. They can get a crowd locally in their town, but they’re unknown where you live. Meanwhile, your getting local music gigs, but have a hard time getting gigs out of town. The solution is a “I scratch your back, you scratch mine” kind of arrangement with your fellow musicians in which you introduce them to your fans, and they return the favor.
* Approach musicians with a similar sound and who are likely to have fans that might be into your music.
* A good idea would be for each group to takes care of the booking and promotion responsibilities for their own town, but you’ll need to make sure you can get all of the materials you need from the other group to get the job done.
* Splitting any money the shows generates 50/50 is a fair way to do it.
I would say the best way for this group to work is for you to post your information in the stream below. Post your name, where you live, how far your willing to travel for a gig, the type of music you play and when you would like to swap gigs. etc etc.. If someone is interested they can contact you.
if this group helps you book any shows be sure to share your stories with us.
